The format for the week will take this form – Monday through to Friday will be my daily summary of self development articles that I find on the web. Today, Saturday, will be a glance back at the week with a fresh but brief overview of those summaries. It will be so brief that I will often confine it to picking the “quote of the week.” The Saturday review will also feature a story that illustrates the benefits of self improvement. That story may come from within these pages or somewhere else out there in this wide world of ours.
And, I will pick an inspirational quote for the week starting with the one below.

Quote of the Week
Why? It says it all for me. Isn’t that the very essence of self improvement? It does matter. It is the key to fulfillment and a happy life. It is the means to a contented soul. It is not easy but don’t you think we should strive to follow that mantra?
And why the inspirational Buddha quote? It applies to me. It is something I strive for all the time. Patience is not my strongest point. But I am learning. I realize more and more with the passing years that there is a right moment. Sometimes it is there all the time but we just don’t know it!
Happy Moment of the Week
That has to be a comment made by G, a guest contributor to this blog and a frequent commentator. In response to my summary of the listicle by Kristyna Z, he wrote in to thank me.
He read the article as a result of my summary. He then signed up to learn a foreign language online. G and his Filipina wife are moving to Turkey soon and both have signed up to learn Turkish. Bravo!
Lesson to be learned? Act now! Do not procrastinate!
Not content with that, G’s wife also signed up for guitar lessons! All because G read and acted upon my summary and the listicle that was featured.

Formal Education vs Self Development
Indeed, I am a great believer in self development. Formal education can only teach you so much. The rest is up to you. Learning is within the capacity of all. We do it as soon as we leave the womb and it should be a continuous process. You are never too old to learn.
Through my passage in life, I feel qualified to pass on my wisdom about self development. I feel so strongly about it that I intend to eventually offer one to one consultations to help anyone who is prepared to listen. Listening and learning are the easy bits. You as an individual have to implement those lessons. No one can do it except you!
You can be the most intelligent person on earth but without self- awareness and self development then you run the risk of stagnating. Even worse, you could go backwards.
