Stories by ‘G’ Alas No More – RIP G

RIP G is a sentiment I was not expecting to express any time soon. Sadly, G passed away early yesterday morning after a fatal and sudden heart attack. Some of you read his stories here and I’m sure you enjoyed them as I did. G, Gerry, started to send me the short stories soon after he became a regular visitor to this blog. I accepted most of them with glee, only refusing one because it was a little risqué. He had talent and in his younger days had screenplays accepted by Hollywood. Gerry and I soon became online friends and I was delighted to meet him when he flew into Bacolod with his wife from Mindanao, Philippines, where he lived with his wife Priskylet Panday…

Next! Short Story By ‘G’

Yet another short story by ‘G.’ I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. The Philippines has talent! “Next!” The person next to me nudges me, “That’s you.” “Sorry, not thinking too clearly.” Friendly hands guide me along to the voice. One of them tells me to take a seat, that I should answer the questions as quickly as possible, because there was a major accident on I-75 and things are backed up. “Mr. Ted Jacob Anderson?” comes through an intercom. “Yes, sir” “Mr. Anderson, this is Michael. I’ll be processing you. Did you get your photo ID at the gates?” “What gates?” “The ones you passed through at 09:19 hundred hours.” I feel for my watch; it’s not there. “I don’t remember…

Two Old Dears By G (For Monty Python Fans)

In case you haven’t noticed Brits are famous for a certain kind of humour [British spelling] … err … okay, off the wall stuff. Our regular contributor, G, sent in this story about Two Old Dears. It’s in screenplay format as G sent it. He used to write screenplays and has had some of them accepted in the past. One of the other thing you need to know about G is that even if he is an American he totally digs the Brit sense of humour, having lived in the UK. I could not resist the photo of the “dead budgie.” It’s so “dead parrot” from one of Monty Python’s funniest sketches. Embed from Getty Images FADE IN EXT SIDEWALK CAFE – DAY An OLD…

Red White & Blue

‘Red White & Blue’ is one more short story by G and I’m sure you will enjoy it. Like me, G has retired to the Philippines and spends at least part of his time writing. I appreciate that he permits me to publish his stories here first. Not only are these stories worthy of reading but they also serve two other purposes. One, they give you the reader something different to read – a different voice to listen to. Second, they give me a breather. The Philippines has a tradition of ghost stories and tales of the supernatural. Filipinos have a word for these supernatural creatures – aswang. An Aswang (or Asuwang) is a shapeshifting monster usually possessing a combination of the traits of either…

My Lips My Teeth Your Neck

Another short story by G and I’m sure you will enjoy it. A breather, but  not from writing. I am busy writing with my other commitments. And, the final editing of my undercover book is also time consuming. That book should be published any time soon. The Philippines has a tradition of ghost stories and tales of the…
