Happy Saturday – Be Inspired – One Legged Footballer

I found this article and video clip about a one legged footballer  after trawling the web for some ‘feel-good’ news.  We are all in need of some inspirational news from time to time no matter how resilient we like to think we are. This young man is certainly an inspiration in providing answers to life’s problems. I re-produce the article I found in full below. And, enjoy the goal! 🙂 His highlight reel soccer goal would have been the talk of the town anyway, but the fact that Concord-Carlisle senior Nico Calabria was born with only one leg makes it that much more amazing to watch. Calabria, who plays on crutches because he says prosthetics weigh him down, was on the field during a varsity…

Self Development Articles: 5 Bad Habits

Another summary of self development articles that I find on the web. You can view all the previous summaries in the series by clicking on this category link. The full title of the article is 5 Wrongheaded Attitudes Stunting Your Growth as an Entrepreneur by Kimanzi Constable. It was a contribution to the Entrepreneur magazine. Today’s Self Development Article – 5 Bad Habits Yes, the title is all about wrong attitudes but those attitudes may also be bad habits. Indeed the author writes, “Your personal habits and struggles can either cause your business to flourish or have it end up becoming another statistic.” Whether you wish to call them habits or attitudes is somewhat superfluous to the lessons contained within Constable’s message. Favorite Quote from…

Today’s Self Development Article – Leadership Today’s article is by August Tarak and it appeared in Forbes under the title What Every Leader Must Know About Personal Development.  To be frank I searched for a different source of articles in this genre other than Medium (the source I have previously used). Favorite Quote from the Author In the Article Summary of the Article Turak prefaces his article with this quote – “Man…

Q: When is One Word One Hundred Words?

A: When the author is Dan Pedersen. I typed in self development in the search box at Medium. I found this article A Word About Self-Education And Personal Development by Dan Pedersen. It intrigued me because it was a 1-minute read. The title also got to me. “One Word” has not to be taken literally. In Mr. Pedersen’s case it ended up as 100 words. The title got to me because as a Brit I am used to the expression, “Can I have a word in your shell-like?” Shell-like means ear. And a word is more like a torrent because the expression (which isn’t a request) means that you are in for a bollocking! Because the piece is so short I will reproduce it here…
